Arrival in Zambia

We (Dean and Sandy) arrived in Lusaka, Zambia (having left home 36 hours earlier) to be met by the General Secretary Rev Maleka Kabandama, Deputy General Secretary Gerald Phiri, the Synod Treasurer Isaac Ngulube and a group of approximately 12 elders and umanyano (Womens Guild). Three children were also there who gave us bunches of flowers! It was a lovely welcome after a long transit.
We were then taken to a mall to get some all important local currency and SIM cards! After sorting that out we were treated to... you'll never guess... KFC! There are three outlets here now, all built in the last year. The power was out when we got to our accommodation, so we went straight to bed at the somewhat early time of 7pm, but I daresay we would not have been up much later than that had the power been on!!!
Today and tomorrow we meet with the Synod to discuss how the Partnership Agreement may be strengthened, so we would appreciate prayer for wisdom.
If you want to text or ring us, my mobile is +260 976117585, remembering that we are 8 hours behind you. That means you are more likely to not wake us up if you message after 3pm your time.
Feel free to leave a comment, we will read them all! Catch up with you on the next blog.
